SUMMARY:Charities: Their Nature and Purpose
DESCRIPTION:The University of Western Australia Business School\, in partnership with WACOSS\, invites you to the next event in the 2019 Morgan Stanley Series\, Charities: Their Nature and Purpose\, presented by Professor David Gilchrist on Thursday 27 June 2019. \nThe establishment of the Australian Charities and Not-for-profits Commission in 2013 was a watershed in relation to the place of charities in the Australian community and economy. Its existence has given focus to a number of national discussions that have arisen over the past ten years or so and which relate to every aspect of charitable activities—funding methods\, governance\, philanthropy\, performance assessment\, and advocacy. \nIn this public lecture Professor David Gilchrist\, a former member of the ACNC Advisory Board and a national leader in charity human services policy and governance\, will discuss the nature of these important organisations\, examine their contribution and identify the key risks inherent in the current policy framework—risks to charities and their stakeholders. \nLouise Giolitto\, CEO\, will MC this not-to-be-missed event. If you are interested in charities\, their operations and their future\, join us for this highly relevant presentation in which Professor Gilchrist will examine the prospects for achieving better outcomes in human services over the next two decades. \nPlease arrive at 4:45pm\, for a 5:00pm start. Drinks and nibbles will follow at 6:00pm.

SUMMARY:Introduction to Outcomes Measurement Webinar
DESCRIPTION:What is a program logic model\, and what is a theory of change\, and what are methodologies to measure our outcomes? What is the difference between measurement and evaluation? In our current changing procurement environment of understanding and measuring outcomes\, it can be very unclear as to what we are referring to when we discuss measurement and evaluation. It becomes even more confusing when we see the myriad of tools\, frameworks\, theories and definitions in measuring social outcomes.
